24 Hours in New York City
There’s so much to see and do in this big city, but whenever you only have 24 hours, you just have to make it work! We recently spent one day in New York and here is what we did…
Stay at Made Hotel
This newly opened, trendy hotel in the Flatiron District is perfect for your one or two night (or more) stay. The location is prime, the food is great, and the design is on-point! Ferris is the restaurant located inside the hotel and they also have a coffee shop downstairs, Paper Coffee. The hotel also has a rooftop bar, so if you’re looking for some great views and a relaxed place to grab a drink, be sure to check it out. As far as the rooms go, the bed was super comfortable, the amenities were modern, and the design was clean. Only somewhat negative thing is that the room was small and if you have a lot of luggage (like we did), there wasn’t much space to walk around.
Eat at Eataly and Boqueria Flatiron
Just a few minutes walk from the hotel, you’ll find Italy, which is an Italian marketplace filled with so many Italian goodies! From multiple restaurants, to a cannoli stand, and Italian groceries, you can pretty much find anything Italian here. We ate at their pasta restaurant and it did not disappoint! If you want a close up look, be sure to grab a seat at the bar where you can watch the action happen in the kitchen.
While Eataly is the perfect option for breakfast or lunch, we’d recommend making a reservation at Boqueria, which is a Spanish tapas restaurant in the Flatiron district. This place makes for a super fun night, especially if you’re out with friends! The environment is cozy, dark, and extremely lively. The other good thing about Boqueria is that they have something on the menu for everyone, whether you’re looking for veggies, meat, or seafood. Also, be sure to order a pitcher of sangria for the table!
Drink at 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge
If you’re in a place, even for a short amount of time, you want to see at least some of the sites! Our recommendation is to have drinks at the 1Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. This way you can see the bridge, take lots of pictures, then once you’re done visiting, you can have a snack and drink with amazing views of the city. Afterwards, if you’re feeling up to it, you can explore the streets of Brooklyn.
