Succulents for Beginners Class in Austin, Texas
Austin has always been a super trendy place, and lately it has been booming with new restaurants, bars, and development. I moved from Austin to Paris two years ago and whenever I come home to visit there are always so many new places I have never heard of! After six months I finally got the chance to make it back home and I’m on a mission to try as many new things as I can.
Yesterday a few of us headed over to Tiny Boxwoods, a restaurant and bakery that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am yet to try the restaurant (heard it’s amazing), but once I try it I will definitely write a city spotlight on it! Across the parking lot from the restaurant, you will find the Garden House and Thompson and Hanson's shop, which is the cutest little shop selling home décor items, clothing, and even some planting accessories.
The Garden House is also perfect for events and classes, which is where we had our succulent class. The Garden House hosts events like baby showers, private dinners, and more, so if you’re looking to host an event in Austin, this is the cutest setting.
The class was the perfect way to learn a new skill while hanging out and having a good time with friends. The class started off with us grabbing a glass of wine and freshly baked cookies, then once we were settled, our instructor taught us about the basics of caring for succulents.
After we learned the basics, she demonstrated a succulent arrangement, then we were on our way to arranging! The great thing about this class was that it was very laid back and an activity you could do with your friends or even your kids. It isn’t a class that takes up your whole day, we were finished within about an hour and a half, and who knows, maybe once you’re done with your class you can grab some dinner across the street. Everyone gets to take their arrangements home in a cute pot at the end of the class, which makes for a great home décor piece!
If you’re looking for a fun activity to do in Austin, then look no further, this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. They also offer more classes than just the succulent class if that isn’t your thing, like cocktail making.
Here is the link to their events! They also have locations in Houston, so if you're looking for fun classes to do in Houston, then they've got you covered.
